About Not For Resale
NOT FOR RESALE LOS ANGELES
Built in Los Angeles from overlooked garments, raw elements, and discarded materials sourced directly from the depths of the LA fashion district. Every piece is cut, reworked, distressed, screen printed, and stenciled by hand — turning what was once ignored into something intentional.
THE BRAND
Behind Not For Resale is TJ — a staple in the downtown Los Angeles fashion district and the force behind @SoldOutSociety — a 90s and 2000s streetwear thrift shop known for its connection to the culture and constant movement. Every day is spent sourcing fabrics, digging through garments, and working directly within the environment that fuels the brand.
THE ORIGIN
Not For Resale didn't start as a brand. It started as an experiment — reconstructing thrifted pieces, reworking garments, and testing ideas inside Sold Out Society. Over time, those pieces began to move. People came in and bought them out consistently, without any formal release, building momentum before the brand was ever introduced publicly.
For the past three years, that process has been refined daily — early mornings, after hours, and in between running the shop.
THE RESULT
Not For Resale Los Angeles — a brand that exists across multiple styles and subcultures. It isn't limited to one lane. It speaks to streetwear, but also to punk, metal, and anyone drawn to raw, altered, and imperfect design.
Not about clean finishes or mass production. It's about reconstruction, process, and giving new life to materials that already existed.
